Hello all
I have a question as to the HVAC ‘system’ that I should be considering for a new home ..
when I say system what I guess I’m getting at is the whole shabang .. AC unit furnace unit .. and other features like an air-exchanger or HRV .. etc.,,
what models have been the most reliable and efficient .. vs. best bang for the buck.
I understand that square footage and cubic feet of space is a variable between models/size.
just looking for direction to what type of system you all recommend and would use in your own homes.
any advice from you professionals would help tremendously…
thank you for your time and knowledge!

One approach is to find an HVAC person you trust and will use to maintain the system and go with his/her advice.

Thanks Bob
This is one of the reasons I'm asking for advice on the system .. want to use that to locate and chose the sub-contractor.
I've been away from the trades for a few years and I've moved to a new area so I've had no exposure to the companies and their offered systems and advice ...
thanks for the advice ..

In my experience, the better HVAC folks (as in many trades) stay active on the learning front; for example, sending folks to training seminars such as those offered by the National Comfort Institute or Building Performance Institute.Try calling the National Comfort Instiutue at their 800# on their web pages) and see if they can give you some names of folks in your area who have been through some of their training courses. The key to forgiving others is to quit focusing on what they did to you, and start focusing on what God did for you.
