i bought the 12″ milwaukee mitersaw for $748 with tax from AWMeyer in new jersey on saturday. it was the only one they had. first impression the box looked dirty and a little bit too beat up for my taste. drove home, got busy with the kids so today on sunday i opened the box and i noticed little bit of fine sawdust on the table and caked sawdust around the 2 guiderails where the lubrication is at the rear of the rails. also the lettering on the sawblade is smudged like you cutting smothing for the first time with a new blade. in your opinion did they sell me a used saw? i am dying to try it out but if i make just one cut they won’t take it back.

I got the display saw from the Depot . The saw blade was not mounted from the factory .
IMHO it looks like you got a working display with no corresponding discount.
It is a sweet saw. Good luck.
I've bought from Meyer. I've had good luck with them, but if there's already sawdust on your saw, I'd guess its been used.
I'd call them up, explain the situation, and see what they have to say.
Not to bust your ballz but that saw has been on clearance at many HD's for $499 over the past few weeks. You got a used and returned saw IMO...I'd return it myself and start over.

Whether or not the OP wants to find a discount one at HD, the fact is he was sold a used saw for apparently zero discount. I'd be pizzed and I'd bring it back. Regardless. Give me a new saw or new blade and some %% discount for the used tool or you can keep it.
Many HDs (not all) will price match what other HDs have on clearance. There's a thread on JLC about this saw...if you have the discounting store # and address and bring that info to your local HD they might give you the deal. Might not. Worth a shot.

I'd be all over the OP's seller too....
maybe it just an error....
but I've been trying to find one on the shelf to haul out the door...

If you find a deal, get it... if you don't find a deal, and you need a saw, get it anyway. You won't be disappointed.http://www.tvwsolar.com
I went down to the lobby
To make a small call out.
A pretty dancing girl was there,
And she began to shout,
"Go on back to see the gypsy.
He can move you from the rear,
Drive you from your fear,
Bring you through the mirror.
He did it in Las Vegas,
And he can do it here."
I know this...
but I need the deal....
