Hello all, I am a first time poster here and a long time lurker. I often get a kick out of the banter going on here. My background is that of a farm boy, who enjoyed building mostly farm buildings and renovating back in the day. Nothing like the great building work I have seen pictures of here, but fun none the less. Eventually became a tool & die maker, but still like do do some carpentry on the side. I am currently planning my small (dream) house, and have been studying all the new systems, (icf, sips, aac, et al) but have not been completely convinced on any of them yet. I recently came across a new product, that I would like to get some opinions on. If you look at www.greenkrete.com , they have a block that is supposedly R3.5 per inch, and is laid like an AAC block. Pictures there of a house going up. No concrete or rebar needed, load bearing, plus other benefits. I have absolutely nothing to do with this company, just looking for some feedback. I also though that maybe this forum could use a new section labelled “New product reviews”. Thanks All

Another new miracle product.
Looks like solid block, no provision for rebar.
That sort of construction allowed in your area?

That's it, no rebar. The top plate is attached to the top using 18" long lags tying the top 3 rows of block together. (blocks 6.75" thick) This is supposed to form a type of bonding beam. I haven't passed this by local building code yet, will probably need to get an engineers stamp here for approval. This type of construction is similar to what I experienced spending some time in Germany.
Thanks for the response.
I'll try a bump. Anyone else seen this product.
Thanks
