New Propane line for all electric house.
We are purchasing a ranch earth contact home. Its on a slab and all electric. The kitchen island is where the cooktop is. We would really like to install a gas cooktop. Its about a 10-15 foot run under the slab to the island. I really don’t want to tear up the tile floor. Is it feasible to have the line bored under the slab and bring it up from under the island?
Thanks folks

By code propane stoves are not allowed in kitchen islands.
Mike,
I have never heard of this regulation, can you explain?
I have seen this requirement in several jurisdictions in So Cal, but I can't find a current reference. Best to check with local building department.
Its a cook top not a stove. I see them all the time in new homes. The answer to my question is no. You cannot run a line under a house. It must enter thru a wall.
Cooktop not a stove is splitting hairs. Most places gas pipe can be run under a slab if the gas pipe installed inside ABS pipe for all of the underground part of the run. Check your local jurisdiction.
If you're all electric, forget propane- get an induction cook-top- they're even more user friendly than fossil fuel cook-tops. You'll need ferrous cookware, but you can afford a nice set with what you'll save on installing propane. Induction is faster on/off than gas, very controllable and the cook-top is easier to clean because it doesn't get hot. I have a pic of boiling water in a pan, with a $5 bill between the cook-top and the pan- no fire danger if you drop a dishcloth on the cook-top.. Burning fossil fuels in an unvented appliance releases pollutants in your house.
Find an appliance store that will let you try one, or go to Costco and get a one burner induction cook-pad. We paid about $900 for our induction stove at an appliance "outlet."
