New tool review sight

bubbajames | Posted in Tools for Home Building on October 21, 2007 11:26am

I have started a message board style tool review site in order to try to help folks find and review good reliable tools. I hope that some of you will consider posting there, as I value the opinions of professionals like yourselves!

I have posted a number of reviews here, but need the help of some others.  Any help with post would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have posted some reviews on my Makita, Milwaukee, Craftsman, Hitachi and even campbell Hausfeld tools, But I need some help with framing nailers, and finish nailers. Brands that I don't have alot of experience with-Bosch, Skil, Bostich, Hilti, Dewalt.

Any help you all can give by posting a review or two sure would be helpful in getting this site off the ground...

I noticed your review on the Makita 18v impact gun. I'm this close to buying it. Only thing that has me puzzled is that they seem to make two different models, one is a more compact black & white striped 18v, and the other is the usual blue and black. They're both 18v and give a 1280 in. lbs. torque, and they claim to have all the same features, but the the blue and black one is a whopping $100 more! You know what the difference is?

Run time. The black and white is only a 1.5ah battery whereas the the typical blue is a 3.0ah.

I just used the Mak 18V impact all day long today.  It's quite an impressive tool.  I was actually torn because for the price I could have bought about four of the Ryobi impactors and rumor has it that  they will be comming out with a L-ion battery that will fit all of their 18V NiCad tools.

As it turned out I bought the 7 piece set so on a per piece price it wasn't too bad.

I might have posted the wrong model#? I have the 14.4 volt model w/NMHI batts.
