So, I have a crappy concrete garage floor, and a whole bunch of 1/2 quarts of latex paint I am not ever going to use, so, that leads me to the following thought… instead of the old uncap and wait till it dries trick, what if I blend all of them (and get gray…) and then use it to coat the garage floor…. will it stick? will it hold up? am I going to ruin my man space or will I make it better?
the goal is to be as lazy as possible…. I am willing to vacuum it but not more prep effort than that. if its a truly bad idea, I will proceed with operation dry it out…

most wall paint will not stand up well to foot and tire traffic.
but if this was exterior oil paint, you might be OK.
Most waste blends I have done end up a puke brown colour

Isn't it ironic that if you paint the concrete floor it won't stick...but if you spill pain on it, you can't get it up!? Bob's next test date: 12/10/07
LOL, I was thinking somebody would come along to correct me saying that they had spilled some ten years ago and it hasn't worn off yet!

That kind of reminds me of the mud I loved to hate in MI. It was so slick that it was dangerous to walk on...it was like slipping and sliding on ice. Slick yes...but it stuck like he l l to my boots and they'd weigh fifty pounds by midmorning. How can something be so slippery and sticky at the same time? Bob's next test date: 12/10/07
Yep... the reason I had this brilliant idea is the big chunk of white latex that will remain in the corner for ever... puke brown though is not an ideal color for me...
There will be no cars, but, slippery could be bad... very bad... I am a klutz and to make the odds worse for me... oh boy...
jmmmm
I believe hot tires will make it peel. I use old paint for back primeing exterior wood. Here we also use cat litter to dry up paint which won't be used. Works great, got ALOT of paint put the litter in a wheel barrow pour in the paint and mix with a hoe.
Under the best of circumstances, you can expect the paint to last maybe five years.
The problem is moisture. Moisture coming up from the ground, trying to exit the top of the floor, will pop the paint loose. This happens even here in Nevada.
yep, I am thinking I am going back to the let it dry to pucks and toss it aproach... I have some kitty litter at school that I can add to the cans and blend in... whoo hoo.. piney fresh!
jmmmm
I am willing to vacuum it
Just use the leaf blower........that's the original lazy way to clean the garage.
