Hey gang I have to install quarter round windows that are used for new construction(with the flange)on either side of a chimmney. The house has vinyl siding(cannot remove)and finished drywall and wallpaper on the inside.
How can I insert the window?
Remove the flange?
Cut the siding?
Weatherproof it?
Thank you
Carl

I would pull the courses of siding invloved A install it with the nail fins. If the customer refuses to let you re hang the siding, walk away. It isn't worth the risk invloved in cutting the siding & hoping the J channel will cover the cut edges.

Thank you Rob, but I am not real sure how to get the siding down in the area affected. I have put it up but never had to take it down.
How do you get to the nailing flang to fasten to and how do you relock it?
Thanks

With a siding (zip) removal tool. You should be able to get one at your local building supply place. It is very easy to use (it must be, cause even I used it successfully the
i first
time!). With this tool, you can remove and replace siding from any spot you want.

*Rich is right. If you aren't sure how to do it & aren't willing to take the chance, ask the supplier for a sub recomendation & build it into the bid.
