I am going to remove a 50 year old 3/4″ strip oak floor. I need to know the best technique and tools to use to remove a large quantity (1500 sq ft) of this flooring.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Why are you removing the flooring?
Tamara
The floor has warped in large areas due to someone steam cleaning a carpet that once covered the oak floor. Also, the floor has an inadequate subfloor which results in a very large number of squeaks. I plan to install plywood over the existing subfloor and then install new oak strip flooring.
Start from the correct side.
Let the thunder crack and the waves roar.

What do you mean?
I thought you were wanting to salvage the oak flooring. Which side of the nail penetration into the subflooring that you are working from can affect ease of removal and lessen the damage to the flooring. Let the thunder crack and the waves roar.
