Today when, I got in my van at the end of the day, I got all teary-eyed, practicaly cried like a school girl. Nose burned like hell too. My first thought was someone sprayed some teargas and I was downwind aways. Of course I ignored it and drove home, AC on and it went away in a few minutes.
Forgot till I went out to the van later this PM and opened the back – same burning sensation – nearly knocked me on my arse. The van was mostly empty, as I am in the process of pulling out the metal shelves and building wood cabs- so there was no Mr. Wizard chemical spill reaction in the back. The one thing different from this AM was I picked up 2 sheets of moisture resistant laun for the back of the cabs. My suspicion is that sheets heated up a bit and put off some nasty fumes.
Anyone experienced this?

I've never experienced it. But a common adhesive for laminated lumber is phenol-formaldehyde resin. It can outgas formaldehyde, which can be irritating. It is also possible to have an allergic reaction to some woods. Such a reaction is more common in tropical woods than in woods from temperate zones. It is conceivable that you could have a reaction to either the veneer or some wood in the core.
I,ve had the same symptoms . I had a bunch of sheets in the van overnight. The next morning, i could barely drive. I still don't know if it was the glue or the wood.
