I have an idea for a new service business for contractors and tradesmen. This new company would be called Office Manager Inc. and would provide office management services to tradesmen who need someone to answer the phones, do the bookkeeping, handle the advertising, interacting with customers intelligently, handle miscellaneous paperwork, etc, etc. OMI would also provide office equipment resources, copiers, scanners, word processing, web site, etc and technology resources, “email this drawing to Joe customer” and problem solving “find out where that XYZ is I ordered two-weeks ago!” Basically, I’d provide full-time, full-service professional office/business service to tradesmen who can’t or don’t want to staff and equip a full time office. I’ll even keep the coffeepot full!
I used to work in the trades and I’m familiar with the industry. I think this would be a valuable service that would make the small to mid sized businessman more productive and profitable. I’d greatly appreciate your comments and advice.
