Need help with a floor removal problem. I am replacing a kitchen floor that is 6 inch wide Maple T&G. The floor was installed before any of the cabinets and appliances were installed so it goes under all the cabinets and built ins. What I would like to do is remove this floor without removing cabinets etc. I would like to cut the flooring at the toe kick then I can install the new floor up to the toe kick and cover the edge (tile and toe kick)with trim. I need a method or tool to cut this Maple along all the toe kick edges without tearing up the toe kick too badly. I’ve tried a 4inch circular blade mounted in a drill. This cuts the Maple fine but it is very difficult to hold and no particularly safe withe total blade exposed. It is easier on the cross cut than on the rip direction but stiil difficult and rough. Anybody know of a low profile circular saw that could cut nearly up to the guide edge while under the toe kick or some other type of rotating cutter that could lay on the floor for stability while cutting real close to the toe kick. Any help would be appreciated.

Amazingly enough, they are called "toe kick saws". You should be able to rent one at a good tool rental place, or some flooring stores rent tools.
Thanks. Put toe kick sw into Amazon.com and got two to choose from. Made by Crain. Also then went on to their web site where they have a lot of speciality flooring tools. Thanks for your help.
I don't know if you can rent these. They are called a 'toe kick saw', imagine that!
