Howdy Folks
I have a Superior fireplace from the late 70’s, and the damper won’t stay closed. It’s not even close to staying shut, because when the mechanism has rotated and pivoted to close the damper door, gravity pulls all the parts to where the door is open again.
I’m wondering if there was a spring that has corroded away to nothing, or what…
I don’t know the fireplace model, but the damper arm has 7232 cast into it. Any hekp?

Apparently Lennox has bought Superior. This might help find you a dealer that can get parts:

Superior Fireplace Model 7232
Hi there, I have the same model of Fireplace. Have you found out where to get replacement parts. I need to replace the back firebrick, it is a 25" x 21" piece.
Apparently the post is 3 yrs old.........
but take seeyou's link and try there.
Same issue
Did you ever find a solution? I've got that exact same damper with the exact same issue. I cannot find a model number for the fireplace anywhere else.
