Online tool sources besides Amazon?
Given the problems recounted with Amazon in another thread, what are the best online competitors these days?
I’m not thinking of the specialty places like Lee Valley, etc.
Aside from Amazon, Coastal is about the only one I’ve ordered stuff from.

I have had pretty good luck with these guys..

I live about 10 minutes from 7 Corners, and I buy about 90% of my tools from them. They had a big mail order operation until a couple of years ago (Tools on Sale), but they were not making any money at it, and shut it down. Now, the regular sales guys at the counter answer the phone and take orders. Are you ordering by phone or online?********************************************************

It's a division of Google, some of the usual suspects show up in its search but occasionally a new one comes along too.

I bought some tools from them. Very good prices and service.
I'm 15 minutes from the tools plus store. I'm also 50 minutes from the Coastal store. Can't tell you how many times I drove past tools plus on my way to Coastal.
Coastal has better service and better selection hands down
Medford tools is pretty decent. Their line of occidental stuff is way better then Amazon.
Wake me up before you go-go.
Coastal is my favorite

I've used both Coastal and Tool King mentioned above. I'm happy with both of them.

thanks. But this place seems limited in terms of tool mfgrs they carry.any others you shop at that would be more akin to Amazon?********************************************************

"I live about 10 minutes from 7 Corners, and I buy about 90% of my tools from them." Same here. I've always been treated well, competitive prices, good selection, and now they're an authorized service center for much of what they sell. Thomas Tool and Supply in Maplewood for a few things- they're good folks and Tried and True in Fridley for a few things. Where I lived previously there wasn't all that much available and used Amazon/Tool Crib a lot. The Cities seem like tool heaven to me. Never had any issues with Amazon but a few close calls with shipping damage- miter saw came with half the box missing but luckily unscratched and dead on out of the box. I still use the Internet for research and price checking but most of the time I end up buying locally and usually it's from Seven Corners. Picked up a Delta 8" slow speed bench grinder from 7 Corners the other day and it was almost $90 less than what Amazon wanted. One of the grinding wheels was out of round/ warped. Called 'em up, no problem, swapped the wheel out, and the wheel they gave me was better than the original. Far easier than dealing with Amazon or Delta.
i don't know if it is over the top to refer to a tool place as a "local treasure,"but that is kind of the way I feel about 7 Corners. Their prices are decent, but I really value the expertise and personal service.********************************************************

Considering the issues with Amazon, there are indeed several reputable online competitors worth exploring. Swiftstart.com is gaining recognition for its user-friendly interface and quick delivery, making it a compelling alternative. Additionally, Coastal offers a diverse range of products and reliable service. Both platforms prioritize customer satisfaction and offer competitive pricing. For those seeking a seamless shopping experience and a wide array of boost products, Swiftstart.com and Coastal are excellent options to consider.
