Way to go Marybeth!
How about making next year a little more interesting or memorable so he won't forget again.
Congrats on 6, Doug, and many more.(You can do it if you remember to keep taking the blame).
*Sounds like you're in for a whole lot of grovelling, some syncopated shopping and you might be seeing the inside of a few jewellers shops.Good luck.
*There's no way out.....I got a gift...then shiney eyes when I asked "What's this for?" I hate the tears...........
*This might helphttp://www.mikestrong.com/doghouse/
*I'm dreading the day that happens to me...and I know it will some day.
*I just remembered reading this..I was married 8 years ago today
*Let's not hijack Dougs' thread. Start your own. Hope you at least got a card for the lucky lady. Congrats.
*Doug,You'll be OK. Take some deep breaths, hug your DW for a long time, and produce a small package. They like hugs and small packages (Remember: nothing with a cord or a warranty). Potentially, you can be forgiven for anything. Sorta like church. wish you good luck.Tom
*Master baiter better become a master spin doctor on this one.My my, how time flies when you're having fun, right Hub old buddy.BestGabe
*Doug: You're a piker. I went through about the first 10 yrs forgetting ALL card/gift giving events - yes, including Christmas a time or two. Been married to same wife for nearly 44 yrs, now, so I must have some redeeming grace. There is hope. reform, reform, reform. TMC is totally correct - nothing w/ a warranty or electric cord unless specifically requested. Best approach is to ask her what she wants - a list of 4 or 5 things so you have a choice. Write it on a restaurant napkin, so it's official. Then for your choice from the list, buy everything!Don
*Dug old buddy, it were nice knowin ya.b : /
*As it turns out I am saved- she forgot also. (Oh sure it took quite a few blows to the head to induce the amnesia but these are drastic times...)Marybeth was out of town on the thirteenth- home tonight. No cords and no warranties- the rolling pin seems perfect. If she doesn't like that there is always the strand of pearls to fall back on.
*That rolling pin is a great idea. I think I'll use it on my 30th. Hollow that thing out and put the pearls (or diamonds) inside and when she's through moping around because all she got was a dumb rolling pin I'll ask her why she didn't open her present. If I don't get smacked first it ought to work out well. I'll need witnesses.
*Ralph, they make glass rolling pins. They are like rolling pin shaped bottles with a cap on the end of one of the handles. That's so she can fill it with cold or hot water or whatever. (Don't ask me why. I'm just surmizin' here...)Anyway, get wonna dose, put the pearls inside, and then wrap the rolling pin in such a way that it is obvious that it is a rolling pin.
*Blame me Ralph.Everybody will back you on that...
*I have one of those--never used it, but I think you're supposed to fill it w/ice, to use sometimes w/pie crusts so the butter doesn't melt--a baker can really tell us, though.Oops, and happy anniversaries to the Hubbards and Tetis!
*Well Doug, I was wondering if she forgot too, since you didn't remember until the next day. Glad it worked out OK. D and I both forgot about our 20th last September. But somewhere around mid-November from out of the blue he told me he liked being married to me. I think a good marriage is something to be celebrated any old time!Wishing you many happy years to come.
*Thanks Lisa.I'm making waffles in the mornin' too. (love that movie...)
*
Happy anniversary Marybeth!
oh boy- this explains a lot.
