A while back someone was looking for ideas for a staircase in a cottage and I tried to describe the one on my grandfather’s farm. Well I found a pic of it, and thought I’d post it just so you people could see what I meant – in case you were wondering.

"Shagadelic Baby" -- Austin Powers
*When I was about 6 I remember my parents having carpet like that as well as the green velvety furniture.LOL
*The carpet would go well with the Velvet Elvis on the wall.
*Does that come with a shag covered hand rail as well?Man, I forgot how bad that stuff looks; even worse, how bad I looked at the time. Every once in a while, I look over a job in one of those homes that the hand of time has left alone for a while and come across rooms still in full 70's vintage, two inch green shag pile and the like. Whew.
*avocado, or harvest gold appliances, shag carpet,' and oh yes, sprayed ceilings with glitter.
*Thats right!! I completely forgot about the glitter on the ceilings.
*Youse guys can laff now, but it all looked really cool from the other end of a joint.
*Hey, I still have that stuff in lime green in two rooms of my house.
*That opened up with just the top four steps in the window. My first thought was "Why is this a picture of fish sticks?"Rich Beckman
*Thank you Rich. That was my first thought also! LMAOROTF!Steve Wright
*Where is this farm, and is it for sale? Wife and I are looking to buy a house, and we think you've got a winner!
*If it were for sale I would have bought it. Sure it has shag carpets, but the place is amazing. Unfortunately when Gramps died awhile back, the executor sold the place off. It sat on top of a hill in Eastern Ontario about half an hour outside Quebec. (Ste. Isadore-du-Prescot). Had a hardwood woodlot on one side, a softwood forest on the other, and a skating pond at the bottom of the hill. Beautiful 4 bay garage with a loft workshop, and a huge old barn.
