p/c 895 router kit or bosch 1617 router kit?
they both seem to be very good but there is a $50 price difference …
is the p/c that much better?
thanks in advance for any suggestions

ive had (2)PC routers and (2)Bosch routers. I prefer the bosch over PC. but both are good.

If I'm going after a smaller router I prefer the PC 690's but if I want a plunge than the only one I would consider is the 1619EVS.
I have only used the midsized plunge a few times and personaly I would opt for the larger 1619 bosch, but thats me.
If I was going to get the mid sized one I would probably get the bosch. Dont let $50 decide what you get though, I know that sometimes money needs to dictate but its better you get what works for you.

Thee Bosch is way better...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming....
WOW!!! What a Ride!
The Bosch is a GREAT kit, and a great rounter, price independent.Jake Gulick

I'd recommend the Bosch.
I have a PC 3-1/4hp that usually runs upside-down. I have several 690s that I used to hold, but now spend most of their life inverted.
The reason the 690s are now upside-down is because I have a few Bosch routers, and I prefer them for hand-held operations. I use them upside-down as well, but they are my first choice for hend-held. I have two 1617EVS and one 1618.
Boschfully,
Mongo
