I think I put this in the wrong folder before. I’m looking for the best paint for new kitchen cabinets. Poplar, and birch plywood make up the cabinets. Any ideas.

Depends on hown you will apply the paint.
If you're brushing it, look for polyurethane based paint. It might be difficult to find, and it will probably be pricey.
But that stuff is like armor, and it's available in a very high gloss if that's what you want.

Painting Kitchen Cabinets
I've done this over the years, and my best results have come from alkyd (oil based) paints, not acrylics. The acrylics discolor sooner and will peel from the kitchen environment. If I could afford it, I'd have an auto paint shop spray the cabinets and doors, but doing it myself, I'd use a sponge roller -- never a brush -- to apply the primer and paint. Lightly wet sand the primer with 200 paper and then paint after removing the dust with a paint rag. Take your time.
