I recently purchased an older (about 50 years old) red brick home. When the previous owners painted the trim and a small section of siding, they slopped the paint all over the brick. Also, they spilled paint down the front of the house (white). They removed most of it but there is still a huge stain. Any suggestions on how I can remove the paint from the brick (with a chemical) which won’t damage it?

Mistee,
If its latex there are several products like Goof off ,Oops, and others .I think the solvent in them is mostly naptha which you can also get at a hardware or auto parts store .I've used them with good results on small areas .
If its oil based ,maybe one of the citrus based strippers . I think they are fairly mild .
I'm no painter , hopefully one will reply to you .

*The strippers you may want (including Citrus stripper) are made by Bio-Wash. They make one that is biodegradeable and can be put on and rinsed off. they have a website at:http://www.biowash.com/main-main.htmlPete Draganic
