I have a house with open-beam ceilings in all of the rooms. The previous owner painted the walls and got paint on the 1″ horizontal edge of the 2″ x 6″ blocking that runs between the beams. There’s quite a bit of it. (Latex paint) What’s the best way to remove it? I have tried a gel-type stripper and a brass wire brush, but it’s tedious and doesn’t do all that great a job. I am considering adding a trim strip all around to create a sharp line there.

Heat gun and a scraper, wear thick gloves. You try zip strip?
A stripper containing methyl-ethyl ketone. However, it's nasty stuff to use/breathe.
