What we have here is a complete disrespect for the law.
Did it harm the units?
We can imagine something that only exists in our heads, in a form that has no measureable, tangible reality, and make it actually occur in the real world. Where there was nothing, now there is something.

look at it two ways. they didnt want to get paint on it. Which is good, but the owner properly mad because she got hot, refuse to turn off ac while they was working in that area. so dust blowing everywhere on the paint job. i dont see them doing anything wrong.
outside condensers are probably $3000 each.
2 were wrapped up here.
a piece of plywood over it would have probably worked better.
The condensers shouldn't be $3000 each unless they're really large or the contractor is shooting high prices.
"I cut this piece four times and it's still too short."
When a condesning unit is subject to over heating due to restricted air flow the high head pressure switch will shut down the unit. Most high pressure safety switches required manual reset. In otherwords, they will shut down before damage is done. And you will have to know what you're doing (somewhat) to get them to start back up again.
