I have installed new siding and step flashing. After that, I read the suggestion to use painted coil for the flashing. Very good idea, but a little late. The question that I have is can the galvanized step flashing be painted? What type of prep, primer or paint.

there is a good line of paints and primers available for what you want to do...
head down to SW or BM and get suited up.
wash the glav with vinagar to nutralize the salts before you paint...
ya done good by using real flashing instead of thr coil stock....
