I am looking for a quick and somewhat economical way to build my new home. We’ve looked into modular homes, and although some on the market are well built, you can’t get away from the modular look and stigma.
I recently discovered a company that specializes in Panelized Construction. I send them a floor plan, they work up the arcitectual drawings and the rough framing, flloor joists, and roof trusses are built in the factory and placed flat on a truck and shipped to the construction site.
I see this method a s a way to get a stick built house and save several weeks in erecting the rough framing to weather tight.
Has anyone had any experience with this construction method? Can you suggest any good companies in the midwest that specia;izes in panelized homes? We will be building in Northeast Oklahoma.

My buddy Mark is about to toss up a house like that. It's from a Canadian company, I think it's abshomes.com or .ca, something like that. He has a stack of panels in the yard along with roof trusses. I can't remember if the floor is panelized or they simply send I joists and plywood. The whole thing is designed to go together using two men and no crane. Two weeks to a dried in structure is the idea, and the lkit includes windows, exterior doors, and I think even the roofing. He told me he was in the $25/SF range for the kit.
There have been several threads about this. A search on "panelized" should get you quite a few threads.
Here are a few I came up with:

That's all I could come up with, though. (-:
I have "built" several homes using this method. I have used two seperate suppliers. Make sure the company is reputable, and things should turn out nicely.
In southern Illinois we use: Luxery homes from Charleston,IL and Rehkemper &son truss company from Breese IL

Have you heard about a company called Landmark Home and Land company out of Michigan City, IN. Their web site is lhlc.com. So far they are the only ones I've been able to find who will deliver to Oklahoma.
Thanks.

try rehkempers.com one of their drivers told me they would drive to oklahoma. They do the total package from floor to roof trusses. I think the salesman's name is byron but I didn't talk to him about this. HIs driver said they have been pretty far though. Good luck.
