I bought a lobster about 2 yrs. ago. It's pretty decent for punch list stuff when you don't want to drag all your tools out, but I would not want to use it all day outside. It must be kept very clean at all times. It definately has power for the first couple hundred of nails and it's pretty handy using on deck railings and such. If your nailing FCsiding it should work but I would rather use a pneumatic nailer for siding, both Bostich and Paslode make one.
*Yep, what George said. The new ones are much improved, great for off balance work or high up on a scaffold, or when you just need some nails fast. Really good for bracing. But for nailing off sheathing or subfloor, can't beat air nailers. I'm not sure about siding with it, maybe you can get a less aggressive tip for it so that it doesn't marr it.Great to have, but you'll still want an air gun too.MD
*I have the Paslode air gun and have found that with the rubber tip, you'll have no problems on the fiber cement (5/16 anyways). I haven't used an Impulse in 5-6 years but they were to awkward and unreliable for constant use (batteries, fuel, batteries, fuel...).
