Greetings. This is my first post here. I’m not a professional builder, but since this is the forum from which I learned about homeless nailers, I thought I might post this here where there seems to be a lot of experience with these machines.
I’ve had a Pas lode Impulse 250II finish nailer for a bit over a year. I just discovered that all the fuel cells I bought when I got the nailer have gone bad and become useless. The cell I was using only drove about 400 nails (supposed to drive 2500), and three unused ones, despite seeming to have fuel in them, wouldn’t drive nails. I thought the gun was broken, but at the repair shop the guy just replaced the fuel cartridge and it worked. He said that the cartridges gradually “leech”. The cartridges do have a statement on the side that they should be used by a certain date to get “maximum performance” but it never occurred to me that they’d go completely bad.
Anyone have this experience with this nailer, or the other cordless models? Anyone know why a simple gas fuel cartridge would gradually go bad? I’ve sent mail to Pas lode asking for an explanation but I’ve not yet heard back.
Thanks,
Ken Plat
