I have two older Paslode framing guns about 6 years old that were broke and I brought them in to get fixed and the guy told me that Paslode is having a promotion until Dec 31 that if you return those guns back they will take off $100.00 dollars off a new Paslode Power Master Plus framing gun.
My two guns were in such bad shape that it would’ve costed over $100.00 each to fix them so I turned those in and bought two new ones and saved $200.00. For me it was worth it just thought I would pass on to anyone that might have one laying around and might need one.

I had one so old that they said that they no longer had the parts to fix
It was the "original" black one

Andy,I'm talking about the air framing gun. It's square with a orange top with four screws in it. They were about 6 7 years old . They were the model before the Power Master Plus guns. I do have the first gas framing nailer that was black also the trim nailer same color.Joe Carola
I also have the old gun. It has the same body as the positive placement gun. I actually prefer it to the new one. I do more punch list work than just gunning walls and sheeting and find the new guns to bounce happy and slippery on the nose. My older gun is much more suited for toe nailing and ease in more delicate areas. It's not as quick when I do have to bounce fire but neither am I. When my gun breaks I insist on repair.
Dustin,Your right the guns I returned look exactly like the Paslode Positive Placement nailers I look at mine yesterday and saw that.Joe Carola
Joe,
That new Paslode looks pretty sweet. We can't use it here because of the seismic requirements. I think we could, but it isn't worth the trouble. Good going though replacing those guns. That new Paslode seems like a good deal.
We are making the switch slowly to coil framers. We have that Max that is about 2 or 3 years old and then we just bought the new Hitachi NV83A2 coil framer. It is a great gun. For interior walls yesterday, we framed just about all of them and had to reload maybe 3 times. It is just so fast.
I hope things are going well for you and your family. We get to start a 12-12 roof today and I'm going to take tons of pics. Did a couple of rake walls yesterday. I have only done a couple this last year. When Jasen went to work for another builder, I had some "unskilled" help and chose not to do them. We did the 2 yesterday and I had forgotten how fun it is to snap out, and frame a rake on the ground. :-) My camera battery died, so I didn't get any other pics, but here is one.
Sorry to hijack your thread :-)

I believe it was this time last year Paslode had a special deal, buy the gun[i think it was $280] and get a free tool-belt and Tshirt. That's when I got mine, good gun.
I didn't do it....the buck does NOT stop here.
Did your gun come with the Rafter Hook because mine did.Joe Carola
Tim,This Paslode shoots full round head nails why can't you use it?I have that same Hitachi coil nailer and it's a great gun very pwoerfull you'll love it.Joe Carola
I think that the head of the nail the Paslode shoots is an offset full round. We would have to order them in everytime we needed them. Now you've got me thinking though. I do like Paslode fasteners. They seem to be very high quality.
We've got so many stick nailers now that it'll be a long time until they wear out. I do love the coil framers though. Just a lot less down time reloading. That's my opinion though. That Paslode does seem like a great gun. I did look to see if Paslode made a coil framer. They do, but it is a Duo-Fast gun. I believe that Paslode and DuoFast are made by the same company.
No rafter hook, did mention one in the manual though. Never got around ordering it.
