I am in the middle of repairing a stippled ceiling that had a plumbing leak.
I have not done real well with matching stipple before and have thus given up the idea of just stippling the area affected. So my process will be to 1. Patch the affected area 2. Scrape the remainder of the room to knock down high spots of the existing stipple 3. Add about two cups of water to joint compound and mix thoroughly 4. Apply compound to ceiling evenly with 1/2-3/4 paint roller. 5. Pop ceiling with stipple brush using a random pattern. 6. Paint entire ceiling to blend in.
That is the process that I intend to use. Any further suggestions for a good looking job?
Thanks for your help
