I have a customer that wants blinds between the glass. She likes Pella right up till the part the operating panel is exterior and the screen is interior.
The prospect of having to open the screen on a summer night full of bugs to close and lock the door just isn’t cutting it.
Any ideas?

You sure you got those things in the right way? The only time i've ever seen the screen inside was on a casement window?
Not saying you did something wrong, just that it would seem stupid for Pella to put the screen inside, doesnt make sense.
All the sliding doors I have seen have the operating panel on the exterior and the screen interior.....
Hence the question.
That's a Pella trademark. The idea they have is with the oper panel on the outside, the harder the wind blows, the tighter the seal. What I don't think they realize is, with the oper panel on the inside, the weatherstrip is on the inside as well. This means that on all doors, the harder the wind blows, the tighter the seal.
Sliding doors are the most inefficient out there, they are just trying to reinvent the wheel.
Sorry, no solution for you on the screen to the interior, other that go with a Marvin.
"It is what it is."
Hubby and I purchased a Pella Sliding Door with blinds between the glass in the mid-80's. The screen was on the inside. We were told this is standard with Pella. The door was heavy and solid. We loved the door, not the price, very expensive - I forget how much we paid.
I can't say anything about the availability of blinds in glass, but most all the other doors from thermatru thru marvin/andersen have the screen running on the exterior.
There's been more in the glass blinds coming out in the last yr or so. Only have seen them on conventional entry doors, but hey-they might have them in a slider among the other manufacturers.
The "kits" the door fabbers use is a separate entity like their threshold supplier/composite jamb bottoms. These swing entry doors have a tab to the side of the plastic "lite kits". Wouldn't work on one sliding by.
Have you checked on some of the other quality sliding suppliers?
