I will be installing a Pergo laminate floor for a client that loves the stuff. It will be a in a small, L-shaped entrance foyer. She wants to “picture-frame’ the perimeter with a contrasting color, and then fill in the center with the standard Pergo plank. I will have a lot of right-angle butt joints. Does anyone know if pergo can supply the proper rabbeting router bit for milling the tongue-and -groove joint? Can I use a standard rabbeting bit, cut a double tongue, and use a loose spline? I thought of biscuit joints but there isn’t a lot of stock left after cutting the slot. Are there thinner biscuits available along with a thinner blade? Anyone ever try this? Any other ideas? Thanks for your input!
