Hi All. I have an Alumapex radiant floor system in part of our house that was installed when we put up an addition 15 years ago. At that time I roughed in addition loops to service a second addition that we are in the process of doing now. Problem is apparently Alumapex is no longer in business. I have a source for Renau radiant tubing. The guy there says that Sharkbite fittings will work between the Alumapex and the Renau. True/false? Would heat shrink tubing be a viable solution if false? Thanks in advance.

Sharkbite fittings are not limited to use with PEX, but work with any material (eg, copper) which is accurately sized and shaped and stiff enough to not be deformed by the pressure of the fitting on it.
I can't imagine that heat shrink tubing would be appropriate for radiant heating.

make up a manifold to receive the aluma on one side and the pex on the other.
Thanks guys. Good point about the heat shrink. I should know in the next day or so if the sharkbite fittings work. If not I'll do the manifold route.
