Here is something I haven’t seen discussed here… No, not a narrow crown, medium or wide crown stapler, I’m talking about a stapler that shoots staples similar to what an arrow t-50 shoots. I’ve seen a few framers use them for attaching builders felt and house wrap. Now I know someone is gonna chime in to use button caps, etc, but the tool I’m talking has a FULL AUTOMATIC mode – do I need to say fast? – and when you attach a paper type product with several hundred staples, it stays… cheap amo too…
I called my local contractor tool supply and they said they had 2 – a bostitch (sp?) and a JK. Kind of pricey though at ~$350.
Anyone know much about this type of staplers? At this point, I’m just in the dreaming stage…

Norm had one to do uphostery work on Yankee workshop.Looks like it shot reg.t-50's.He hides the name of his tools but it sure looked Porter cablish.
Not what you're asking, but I've got an electric Arrow stapler that shoots T50s. I either use that or my smaller manual Arrow that shoots JT27s. Slap tacker is the last resort, except maybe with Tyvek, but I never use that...
I got the electric arrow stapler too. worst tool ever made. I used it to throw at the dog when he get in the garabge. with that little cord you can sling that sucker. got a squirrel one time in a tree, must of been twenty feet up. best tool ever made for slinging at squrrels. got to admit, it made tough. still have broken that sucker. you be amaze at what a concrete slab will do to a regular tool. but try to break one. that sucker tuff. if only it was a better stapler.
Agreed 100%, except that I don't throw stuff at my dogs as they are the only people who really under stand me and fully accept me for who and what I am ;-)
Now that you mention it thou, I'm gonna have to locate that POS electric stapler as there has been a pesky feral cat hanging around trying to get our yard cat's food.
To me it is shocking that Arrow, who otherwise has a great name in what they do - staplers, would make such a piece of trash. Matt
I dont know what a T-50 is, but we use a pneumatic hitachi stapler to attach our tyvek. Believe it or not, It shoots about 8-10 staples per second. We use 1.5 inch staples. Senco also sells a similar stapler.
Thanks fuzzy - this is the kind of info I'm looking for.
Here is the link to the Hitachi web page:http://www.hitachipowertools.com/store_list.php?&iDepartmentID=48&arrPath=1,9,48,
Which stapler is the one you all use? 1.5" sounds kind of long for the applications I'm talking about....
Then I looked at the Senco web page which I find to be rather poorly designed... It's great if you already know what model of tool you are looking for...

BTW - a T-50 is the type of staple that would commonly be in a slap staple hammer or gun type stapler - The arrow T-50 and a Bostitch type reprisent probably 80% - 90% of the staples/staplers that are used in construction and by DIY homeowners here in NC. http://www.contractorstools.com/arrow1.html http://doityourself.com/store/6189690.htm

We use the hitachi N5008AC Construction stapler.
Ur rite about that electric POS. 4" cord on a tool that definetly needs a long cord! I luv the variable "strength" dial . Im afraid to turn mine all the way up..mite hit my buddy on the back side of the plywood sheathing!
Be careful when using it. The bump fire mode is very sensitive. So try not to walk around with your finger on the trigger. I am used to the hitachi framing guns and they are alot less sensitive than the stapler. Just the other I saw one of our new apprentices shoot himself in the knee. while he was bending over the gun barelly grazed his knee and fired. But besides that I have no complaints. Those staplers save our company a whole lot of time. Besides attaching tyvek they are also great for nailing the top plates of perpendicular walls together------alot stronger than toe nailing.
Thanks, but unfortinately, that looks like a medium crown stapler. A different animal than what I was inquiring about.
Look at this web page:

Note the companies name at the above web site.
Like I say, the staples for these tools look more like the staples that would be used in a desk stapler for stapling paper together. Matt
Harbor freight has one that shoots T50. i just did not like the cheapness of it.
Is this it ? http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=46365
I've never ordered anything from there - when I see tools that cheap I suspect that it's too good to be true... and I bet it is; I might bet even $40... One guy told be he bought one of their pin nailers and he was very happy with it. My expierence is that some of those small air nailers, etc are pretty darn durable even if they are not the best brand... Matt
