By considering things like energy-efficient mechanicals, window orientation, and renewable energy sources, homes can be evaluated to meet the energy codes. Here's what the IRC has to say.

You got to wonder have any presidents ever snuck down and messed around a bit. One that come to mind is Jimmy Carter don't know if he still does but he used to be a real good chair maker, windsor type stuff. If the Obama girls need to make a birdhouse for girl scouts to earn that badge that shop could come in handy.Wallyo
I saw a photo some time ago with what looked like a small "cat" down inside the Whitehouse. They were using it to clear debris from the remodel that Pres. Truman ordered.
The whole building was in danger of collapsing so he moved his family into the Blair House, across the street, and had the entire building redone.
Wonder how many levels there might be below now? I would imagine with today's world that there'd be more offices, mechanicals, computer set ups, emergency everything and bunkers to keep things going.
For you remodel guys, how would you bid this today? <g>
Here are some real great remodel photos of OUR house .........

That "small cat" really isn't all that small. Using the two guys in the picture as references, the "cat" looks to be approximately the size of a Caterpillar D4. The shape of the fuel tank leads me to believe that it's either an Allis-Chalmers or International Harvester machine.I would bet that it's an A-C since IH tractors were painted dark red which would be much darker in the B&W photograph.
