Charmin is one product I will never buy. Some advertising campaigns do that to me. Chevy
Like-a-Rock truck comes to mind.

Here is what I am doing.
My new website is going to cater to advanced hobby carpenters, garden/Landscape Designers, and Craftsmen/Woodworkers/Carpenters/GC's.
As some of you would know...I have had the year from H e ll and am due for a change. Divorce due to working too much, cut off a thumb which has added up to dwindelling savings. I am obviously not cut out for Contracting,(I don't have enough luck for it).
I am going to stick to doing what I do best...designing interesting woodwork features, with a little luck. I have created plans for Arbors, Pergolas, and Fences which I am sure you will enjoy building since they will add up to more money in your pocket. Any orders that say Breaktime on the orderform will get the plan for 25% less, (just my way of giving some back). Once you order a plan and build it, send me along a pic and your contact number...I will post it so that clients can contact you directly to have you build projects in your area...(Associated Contractors section...In links).
What do you all think??? Give me some feedback...Lets talk...
Lawrence
*Lawrence, can't hurt... nice to see a guy land on his feet.Run with it. Mebbe a little classified ad in the back of FHB???
*No, PLEEEZE buy that )&@^(*&! yellow box back.
*Andrew, what is up with the reply dude? Big hole in the roof lettin' the cosmic rays in? My take on Lawrence's post is a "what do you think" not a lemme post an ad on Breaktime. My suggestion was a classified IN the magazine, not a @#$%^& banner online.
*George,I'm betting that Andrew really did mean the first comment as a joke and the second comment was to say that Andrew would prefer Lawrence's ad at the top of the page over Tool Crib's any day.Did I get it right, Andrew?Rich Beckman
*Lawrence, I'd most definitely be interested, even if you din't go full scale with the ads and such. I do some restoration work to older homes, and when the old woodwork is completely gone, the client wants something unique and nice to replace it with. I wind up looking through mags, pictures, other homes, etc... coming up with ideas. I try to copy the other stuff as best I can, but a set of plans and diagrams would be wonderful for me. Sure would save me a lot of time and effort.James DuHamel
*Thanks guys...for all the input, keep it coming, and if you would like to see something different in there...drop me a line. I'm hoping to include a couple of mantles and some basic furniture and the like eventually. The new site will be up by the end of the week. I want to keep the whole thing flexible and meant what I said about working with you guys. Hey! Does anyone know how much they charge for that little yellow box at the top of the screen? Sean? Who do I ask?L
*Yes, you're right Rich. You're beginning to understand my mind, and that should frighten you. Also, Lawrence and I had chatted "on the side" (e-mail) about this, so some context was missing. I am REALLY tired of the same old ad day after day. I'm not anti-ad (don't want the ad police to take me away) but variety is important. Remember the torture of the old Charmin ads? They're bringing Mr. Whipple back.
*Go to the Taunton or FH main page, I'm sure you'll find your way to an e-mail or phone #.You know, I was thinking just a few days ago, where could I get some nice mantle plans?

*Lawrence,I am pretty small time, and a ways off from much high (or medium) end or custom work. But if the chance ever comes, I would love to build some of the stuff I see on your site. And I like the prices (which tells me thati maybeyour not charging enough).Rich Beckman
