I’m helping to restore a circa 1920 house that has a therapeutic shower with several shower heads and control valves. It seems to have plaster walls that are in pretty good shape for being 75 years old. The walls need some repair.
The floor is concrete with a large radius cove molded in. It flushes up with the wall about 4 inches up.
We’d like to keep the plaster walls (or whatever they are). Are they repairable? Will they hold up? Thanks.

Bob: The only plaster we have ever seen here that has held up to shower use is cement plaster. If that is what you have it can be patched but if there is much to do I would contact a stucco/plastering contractor. You might have better luck with a contr. that does commerical work. If you have some loose areas or some place on the wall you can get a sample it will be very helpful. The first thing to do is to determine what the material is. The proceed to repair it. The fact it has been there this long indicates that it works. Ron.
