Man, that guy's good. Not a wasted movement anywhere.
Too bad about the darn shelf brackets in the foreground though.

It's nice to see someone still doing that. Most plastering skill anymore is in the way of repairs. When you do what he's doing for hours on end, it can have a ravaging effect on your body. Look at the movements and what certain muscles are lifting. I used to run a plastering crew when I was in the union and I would make my guys take regular hourly three- five minute breaks to stretch. The Union of course requires certain breaks. Ceilings are the worse.
Tell your friend that he was doing a good job the right way and right sequence but next time he decides to do a video, look through the lens first and see what may be in the way. Just hire a friend with a camera & steady hand to follow you.
What is going on here? What is the substrate? For someone who knows nothing about plastering, this video is useless.
The shelf brackets in the foreground are priceless.
What is going on here?
He is plastering a wall
What is the substrate?
probably blueboard, which is commonly used for thinwall plaster here - I think he's got another video that covers that
For someone who knows nothing about plastering, this video is useless.
its not really a how-to, per se. I don't think he made the video to instruct a person who knows nothing about plastering. He made the video to show his skill with plaster, although I'm certain there are people who could learn something from it. And he's got other videos that explain the process up to that point.
The shelf brackets in the foreground are priceless.
good eye
