Can someone reply to this. I'm curious also. Don't have it down here.

I saw a 100 yd. observation deck and above swamp walk way on the Eastern Shore of Va. about two years ago, I think it was made out of TREX. The decking seemed to be sturdy and wear well, however 1.) the thing couldnt've been over two years old and 2.)The top rail and both side rails had completely done a Dr. Suess thing in the sun and were warped like a bad Dead show. I'm not sure how that answers your question, but it seems like with any new miracle product (remember Dryvit, and Masonite?) give it about five years and see how many nationwide lawsuits show up.

Trex is the best. We just put down 5000 square feet of it.
*Shedea;I have had very good results with TREX. The stuff u refer to at the Depot is very limited in how it can be fastened. You are stuck with top nails/screws...The ends are open also, (not a rectangular cross section, but it has a dramatic back relief) (If its what you are looking at.) Can't rip a board to fill in at the ends. Have you looked at TREX when it is aged? Raw looks like crap.G'luckPS. Do a search here in Breaktime archives, lots of talk on trex, other fasteners, etc.
*Recycled...Garbage.
*Actually, what isn't recycled?BTW, the US plastics product is "virgin" material if I recall....
