I am replacing plexiglass inserts (I use them in the Winter for my screened in porch) and the only place I can find ANY is at HD and they are mostly too small and too few in number.
Most of the sheets are about 3′ wide but a couple are aloser to 4′. All are between 5′ and 6′ feet long so I’d be looking probably for 4’X8′ sheets that I could cut to size.
I live in Central Nj but would be willing to pay freight charges if someone can come up with a supplier.
While I’m here, can anybody suggest an adhesive to glue the plexiglass to the wooden insert frame. I will also use some small screws with pre-drilled holes but thought that gluing the whole edge would help prevent cracking.
Many thanks for any assistance.

I hope this is not a silly question; but, did you look up "plastic" in the yellow pages ?
BTW, maybe check with a local sign-maker to see where they get theirs.

Any commercial plastics supplier listed in the phone book would be able to help you out. The use of a bath and kitchen silacone would replace your screws and greatly eliminate cracks.

I get all my plexiglass, lexan, etc, from a local glass shop. (Not that I use a lot of it). They usually have to order it in (2 days to a week delivery), but I can get up to 4' X 8' sheets, 1/8", 1/4" etc. Prices per sq. ft., when buying full sheets, beat the big box stores and the glass shop will cut it to size and peel the protective paper off and clean it...all ready to go.
Mike,
I live in Easton, PA and I can think of at least 3 suppliers that could get you what you want. I would recommend checking with your area glass suppliers to see if they can help you first. If not, email me and I will get you some pricing.

Tried 3 local glass stores. They looked at me like I was nuts. Only seemed interested in picture frames, table tops or repairing broken (glass) windows.
Names and contact numbers of suppliers would be great. I can take it from there.
Many thanks for the feedback.
Where I live, and it is in the boonies, most any glass shop will custom-cut plexiglas.
try bayway lumber in linden, 908-486-4480, my job gets all types of plexi from this lumber yard. give them a call.
Ditto on the glass shop idea; that's where I've always got mine. No plastic suppliers near me, but several shops doing commerical glasswork.cabinetmaker/college woodworking instructor. Cape Breton, N.S
