My Dad, who is getting on in years, has developed an annoying habit of leaving the taps running. I need to find some taps which will turn themselves off if left running. Also I need a bidet that will do the same thing. Any companies make fixtures like these for the older folks?

Heck, my dad can't even pronounce "bidet".

Why not go to hands-free (infrared) fixtures.

Most commercial kitchens have hand sinks with taps activated by pressing a leg against a lever. They aren't cheap though. A small sink and tap runs about $800.
I've installed a few similar commercial setups that involve a foot pedal and a mixer valve but that may not be practical in a residential setting simply because of the lack of temp control.
you can use those faucets that they have in rest stop bathrooms that you oush or turn and they pop back off in a few seconds... but I hate those too.
Those infrared faucets also require a mixer valve and will only supply one temperature of water.

There is a listing of electronic sensor faucets at:

I can't help but wonder if he forgets to turn the water off because he can't hear it running. Does he have or need a hearing aid?
