Want to get my decking before the prices go up —
Building a 2-story garage. Upstairs will be 24×36 area for storage & probably woodworking shop area.
Sounds like Advantech may be the way to go, as I hear it makes a nice solid floor and handles water well. It may take me some time to get the roof up, so it’ll probably get wet.
Question is whether the surface of the Advantech is smooth enough to use for a final floor surface without having the wood particles flake off.
Other options are fir plywood or SYP plywood, all priced within a couple bucks of each other, so cost isn’t a big issue.
Which would make the most durable floor surface?
Any good, inexpensive, non-slip paints I should consider?
Thanx

I recently built a floor which, unfortunatley, got wet repeatedly before it was roofed over. The Advantec is still nice and smooth!

For a sturdy second floor I'd go with T&G 2X6. Its an added expense but nothing like 2X material to firm up a floor. In addition it will wear extremely well and is easily refinished. My 2cents.
