I’m looking for an economical yet cool wood floor for a yoga studio. The thought is a high grade plywood cut into 4’x4′ squares then alternating the grain so it looks like a (large) tile floor. Has anyone done this? my concerns are the lose of the 3/16″? saw kerf for layout/ spacing purposes. Thinking of leaving an 1/8″ plus gap between sheets to compensate, then what to fill the gap with?? Will I have an expansion/contraction problem? any clues??? suggestions?
