I’m going to be buying a new roofing nailer. What’s your opinion on the various models. Also what’s your air compressor volume/power preferences when running a roofing nailer?

I need one too!
I have the Hitachi AN65 siding nailer, and like a lot as well.
But...and this might sound dumb, I was thinking of getting the max or the Bostich just because they are different. (And because crews who don't have a grasp of English might find it easier to distinguish...)
So, I can get the bostich at the depot (need by Wed ) but the Max is not so easy. Suggestions?
Or just suck it up and go with the proven winner, the Hitachi, and worry about the confusion later, LOL.
Do any of them come with a case? (I love cases)

Tools at the last minute is a tough one. I would go with a Bostich if you don't want a Hitachi just on the availability factor. And the Mike Smith endorsement factor! If his crew likes it then it must be a good nailer.
Yeah, I put myself behind the eight ball on this one, LOL.
The good news is that I think all three are fine.
And yes, if Mikey likes it, it has to be good! ;)
I think the Bostich can use nails as short as 3/4", which is important to me as I often design open rafter/deck detailing, and hate nails poking thru the beaded decking, LOL.

we use quite a few of the 3/4" also..
and you can nail fiber cement and ridgevent with the 1 3/4"
the RN 46 will take that range..
if you need HOT DIPPED galv.. you can get them for that gun from MaizeMike Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
