About two weeks ago I purchased a new Rotozip now owned by Bosch. I wrote on this board about how I liked the tool but was not crazy about the bag type case or “purse” as I called it. I also wrote Bosch to comment on how I liked the tool but not the case. They wrote me back and said they would share my comments “with the team”. I didnt think much of it and just figured i’d spend the next couple if months watching my roto get destroyed in the back of my van, until yesterday when I got home and found a brand new hardshell case on my front door no charge and completely unsolicited. I just wanted to share this with everyone here because I dont know of any companies that would do something like that just based on one comment. It really impressed me.

I'm going to write them a letter telling them how much I like this brand new hard case I got, but how I wish that I had a rotozip that would fit it.
Actually, it is pretty standard for companies to let their complaint/ PR dept have a budget of giveaways to molify the complaintants.
housewives know about this. They can always get extra coupomns or sample freebies by writing a complaint letter .
Sometimes this strategy goes awry - like when my aunt had some suntan lotion react with the UV and turn her skin orange ( MY, wasn't she a sight!)
so she contacted the company, actually threatening to sue, and they wanted to make her happy, so they sent a whole case of
the SAME suntan lotion in hopes of pleasing her, LOL
By then her skin had returned to normal and she laughed the whole thing off, but never bought that brand again.

I guess i was so surprised because i'm used to dealing with another tool company that wouldnt consider any freebies. I didnt ask for the case and I wasnt complaining. Thats what impressed me so much.
I shouldn't have demeaned the good impression. They did you good and are a class act

Do they still make the cordless RotoZip? I got one when they first came out and love it but it's starting to show it's age and I haven't seen them anywhere, just the corded ones.
yeah ... I left my old case there ...
yer welcome.

Years ago, i purchased a Stanley chalkline....."Contractor Grade".....back when they first came out.
From day one it was evident that all they had done was spray paint the box yellow....crank kept jamming...line kept breaking....finally had enough one day and tossed it off the roof I was sheathing and into the LI Sound.
Still steaming when I arrived home, I tore off an email to Stanley berating them and their product...after a couple of back and forths with someone in the PR department I arrived home one day to find a box sittin` on my front stoop.
It was loaded with 1 gallon chalk containers and chalklines of different lengths and models.
I`ve not badmouthed them since.
