Quick question (again)…..has anyone used that new hot glue gun ($100) that shoots poly sticks? Sounds real good to me!

saw the same question asked a while ago on the old board with not much response. I have never used one but am dying to know how the work, they sound like just the thing for returns or other small pieces.
I think that Gary Katz said that he has one and really likes.

Which "new" gun are your refering to ? I've heard there are a couple of new/cheap ones surfacing.

Andy,
I posted a review in the old forum and there are several discussions on the JLCS, trim board mentioned above.
It's great for what it is--Franklin sell the HiPUrformer that is a reactive polyurethane, they have a web page, etc and wwhardware.com sells the cartridges for around $6. It is great for small molding returns and smaller projects, but it sets up extremely fast. Once cured it forms a very stong joint. I put together some cedar mitered samples and they were nearly impossible to break after only a 15-20min cure. Try that with titebond and the glue will fail due to the endgrain. It sets fast and you only need to clamp with your hands for about 30 second. Drawbacks???-- the squeeze out doesn't sand very well and needs to be cut--you've got about 20 seconds to reposition your pc if it slides, and its alittle thick so it takes alittle getting used to.
I use mine all the time and love it, saves having to fill all those little brad nail tracks.
