Polyurethane floor finish
I’m having trouble applying polyurethane floor finish without it setting with bubbles. I’ve tried all the recommended applicators, and the problem persists. Any advice?

Blow on it from the side. The CO2 in your breath will burst the bubbles.
But it also means you're applying it too thick.
Apply in thin to medium coats.
You can try wha Pete sez but thin it out a bit.
are you sanding, vacuming and tacking the surface each coat?

glad to hear someone else has this problem.
heres how i do it. i use a lambswool applicator, dip it in the poly gently, then i start at the wall and very slowly pull across the room, holding the handle pretty low so only the rear of the aplicator is on the floor.big room and it starts getting a little dry, redip. then when i hit the other wall i bring the applicator in the reverse direction, again the slower the better. seems like this second pull really helps.
i once did a room that was 40' long, i had a helper coming behind me so that it wouldn't take so long between strokes.
i get a few bubbles but they dry out without any problem.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T
MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE
DUCT TAPE.
Don't know if this appies to you but many people get bubbles because they shake the can before applying the polyurethane instead of stirring it.
