My wife picked out a Ralph Lauren glaze (teastain) to apply over a beige paint for our cabinets. I do not want to paint them (much rather stain), but I leave decorative decisions to her and the test panels that we’ve done seem to show the wood grain, and it does not add the “thickness” that most paint seems to.
Anyway, my question is should I add a polyurethane layer ofer the glazing? Last time I built kitchen cabinets I applied three coats over stained wood and it worked very well, but I’m not sure about applying over the glaze (will it stick?). I can and will try it out on the test pieces; how long would it take to peel if there is poor adhesion?
Thanks-
Lew
