I have used the new model PC Biscuit Joiner for the last year and am very satisfied with it. The ability to cut face frame slots is a real bonus. It adjusts easily and holds the settings as you work. Prior to the PC, I had a DeWalt which was a good tool but not as good as the PC. Prior to the DeWalt, I had the earlier version of the PC. Stay away from that one. Good Luck.

Man do I agree with that advise. I don't own the new pc, but I had the original and it was apain in the ass to set the height of cut. I now have the DeWalt and find it a wonderful tool. I'm pissed that PC waited so long on their upgrade as I love their tools in general.I have not done a up close and personal withthe pc, but I would assume from what I've seen and read that it will give the DeWalt a run for its money.
*Yup, the old P-C was crap. I have the Dewalt, and I think it is first rate. I've looked at the new P-C. held it in my hands, etc and i noticed two things. It is substantially bigger and heavier than the Dewalt and 2)there is a lot more slop in the fence system than the Dewalt. Whether this automatically leads to less accurate work, i don't know. I was pretty interested in the small biscuit, and cursing Dewalt for dropping the ball, but after looking at the machine, and considering how little of the small biscuit is working, I'll stick with my Dewalt and my Kreg jig for face frames.

A self seving message for PC - give trade-in money for the poor people who bought those turkey 555's. Like me they probably placed too much value on the PC label and expected a well designed tool. The new edition does look good though, maybe that's for me.
*I used the earlier PC, had too much difficulty with adjustment, and bought a DW. A friend has the new PC, and we can't see much difference between it and the DW, other than it's more expensive. As for the face frame biscuits, I put a slot bit in my router, and plunge in using my router table. But I agree, those biscuits are tiny tiny, and I'm going to look into the Kreg style joint.
