*If it's too long for you to read, don't read it.
*You assume I do.........Joseph FuscoView Image
*too short!
*It's not the length of the post that bothers me it's the depth of the hole that it's sitting in.
*Yep, some of those "big posts" just fall right over when a little wind blows on them.Joseph FuscoView Image
*You guys can really argue about the stupidist things!!!!!Is this tooooooooo long!

*JoeJust headin' out the door. . . can I get there from here?. . . there's this big friggin' lake in the way. . . I'll bring the snow!!!Is that the place that never sleeps? I'll be a little late.No wonder you're such an accomplished flame thrower. I got hung up in JFK one time, needed change for a pay phone. Asked a crowd of suits walkin' by if any one could make some change. . . all ignored me, caught one guys eye, asked him directly, he sneers back "Whaado I look like a f**ckin bank? Ahh New Yawk! :>{
*That's the place, party starts at 11:00.Joseph FuscoView Image
*Joe, how about if we agree to keep the posts shorter and you agree to stop using cartoon colors and graphics.(I am a little envious of your obvious computer skills but mastering most of them is WAY down on my list of priorities) Good Luck, Stephen
*Stephen, Do you mean like this? View Image We are all cartoon characters here. . . Some are just better at it.So much for priorities. Joseph FuscoView Image
*Joe, use less psychedelic color, he means. The 60's are over. Repeat after me, I will put away the Magic Markers. I will put away the Magic Markers. I will put away the Magic Markers. I will put away the Magic Markers.View Image
*andrew d,Both of you might have me confused with Jack. Joseph FuscoView Image
*Personally, I would rather read a long, well-written post with the type in one color (Jack, Blue, put the crayons away please) than a McPost with graphics that a six-year-old would consider garish. It's about accurate, effective communication, not showing off. Edit dear fellows--your words and your pictures! Pictures that communicate something of value are good. Pictures that are a waste of bandwidth are just that.Everyone here would be doing themselves a favor if they would read Roger Black's "Web Sites that Work"Steve
*I agree Steve.Lets get back to basics and stop with the egos.
*Gabe,My point is most of what is said in two pages can easily be condensed in to one or two paragraphs. It also appears that "ego" is exactly why they are so long. Joseph FuscoView Image
*Definitely "too". Back to grade school.
*I agree that some posts need to be lengthy. Often times it depends on the subject being discussed. On occasions where posters are brief, they are sometimes lambasted for not going into enough detail. Several follow up's are required to pass the requested information. On the other hand, the lengthier and more detailed the post, the greater chance the post will be parsed and the writer criticized for a minisciule oversight or semantics error. If you have something to say, write and post away. If you have a graphic to show, make it a linkable post. I look at pics when initially posted, but when I come back to a thread for "new messages" the pics do slow down the text loading. Bold and Italics can be used to help denote emphasis in a post. Colors as well, but only when used sparingly. Use them too much and they lose their impact.
*Ya right! I guess it's time "too" go to work or time "too" leave and me "to". Definitely!Joseph FuscoView Image
*To say nothing of logos(egos) being too big.
*Or minds to small.....................Joseph FuscoView Image
*That would be "too" too. You've now missed two applications of "too".
*"A mind is a terrible thing..."A terrible mind with internet access is even "terribler"...
*Err Steve, are you aware that your name is blue?!Cut the grphical onslaught will ya!I'm amazed that I'm singled out for the over use of HTML. That's the funniest. I'm a Computer god!!!!That' funny!Blue
*Ouch!!!Flame war v.4(?)Hey Jack where are ya!!i Never too short to be pointless
*Joe, don't try to limit the long windedness of those (of us) that obviously have something to say! You already possess the ultimate censoring power, the mouse. Use it, abuse it, and it will set you free! And to those that don't like color, there's a preference box somewhere in your computer. You can switch the colors off. The same goes for pictures. YOU HAVE ALLOWED THE PICTURES, AND COLORS TO COME ONTO YOUR SCREEN!STOP CRYING ABOUT THE CHOICES THAT YOU HAVE MADE!You guys are beginning to sould like a construction crew!wheres my beer?Blue"The more people I meet, the more I like my dog."
*Now, now Joe, we're not all cartoon caracters here. We don't all live in Knew York City. But, man, that's why I love to visit there.By the way, my son may be coming to NYU, you drink? I'll need one. BBPost on, it's breaktime, right?
*Joe,funny cartoon man,how did you know that my secret childhood dream was to BE spiderman?Mr.Blue Devil, any posts with my name highlighted in blue is not by my design, but rather by Sean's design. As far as turning off the color on this computer.....too much effort,it is about all I can handle to get the damn thing turned on let alone adjust the color.Maybe if it had a few less buttons and a few more dials like my T.V. Still watching cable free black and white T.V.,Stephen
*Hi Blue,I guess I was a little hasty picking on you. Jack, whose posts I enjoy and look forward to, is the single worst offender. At least he's usually brief in his garrishness. I've no objection to you putting your moniker in blue. It's appropriate. But why bother with the lines under your name? How many magazine articles or books do you see with the kind of trash that passes for graphics on the web? I had a mantra I used to repeat to myself when I was a magazine art director and it was time to sit down to the keyboard and start designing the stories: "Just because you can do it doesn't mean you should." When you take garbled english and make it even worse with boldfacing and italics and ALL-CAPS and such, all you have is ugly garbled english. Once you get command of the english language it can be used very effectively without excessive embellishment. Even if you can't seem to get command of it, the esparanto would be easier to decipher without the eyestrain of the "enhancements." By the way, my compliments to Sean on the redesign. It seems some of the more sophisticated web sites have finally discovered that the most readable combination is black type on a white background. This is something the Roger Black and other respected print designers have preached for years. But I digress...Steve
*Those little lines are the most interesting thing that I have learned to do with my $2500 computer! And now you want me to leave them out!Just as I began to fell like an HTML wizard, you hurt my feelings! Where do I go to complain? Blue
*Joe, please teach everyone how to set their preferences. I would, but I haven't the foggiest!I just bluffed on my last post! And no Steve, I've decided to keep my silly lines. they are a special code to the aliens that are looking in on these (and all internet posts). If you knew what was good for you, you'd have those lines too!Blue
*Hey Booger-manDo the lines that I seem to have on my face these days count. . . for the aliens that is??? How about the lines on the mirror? The lines on the road, maybe? Is the truth really out there???? Are you really out there??? i "Is there anybody OUT there?" (r.watters) :}[<. . . comfortably numb (at -17F)-P.M.
*Patrick, I think your safe. Did you see any shodows in the mirror behind you?Blue
