Pet Peeve: Wall mounted cordless phones with duplex jacks beside to supply power.
I just installed a new product made by Leviton. It’s a wall-mount telephone jack that also provides power for cordless phones (they market it as the PowerJack). The jack has a transformer that brings the voltage down to cordless range (7 to 12v) and comes with plugs to fit a variety of cordless phone.
It’s well designed and worth looking at if your interested in eliminating an adjacent duplex for power. I saw it while surfing the Leviton website and special ordered it from my local electrical supplier for about $25.
Definately easier for new work or renovations where the access inside the wall is available.
I normally don’t post product endorsements, but this was too cool. About time someone figured out a solution to the wall-o-cords.
It’s shown on Leviton’s website under New Products (http:www.leviton.com).

Just looked it up. Very cool! I always wondered why no one (else) had thought of it. I just missed an oppertunity to get rich.
I'm going to try it out next chance I get.
Thanks
