I never have talked to anybody who had bought an electric one who wasn't getting ready to take it back for a refund.

Lee,been shoppin' around myself. Northern Tools (used to be Northern Hydraulics) has a good selection and the sales reps seem to be pretty knowledgeable. I'd agree with previous posts ....you'd be better off with gas engine powered model. The better electric models pull 15 to 20 amps- that means using no extension cords or else reseting blown circuit breakers. Plus I'm nervous when electricity and water are is close proximity to each other, even with a GFI circuit. If you just want something to use around the house, an electric would be ok, but I'd still lean towards a gas model. Commercially, gas power with a Honda engine(GC series-the red ones) and a good brand of pump .....Cat pumps seem to have a good reputation ..... all the car washes in this area use them.
*......meant to say GX series, not GC .

I agree with the othe posts. We tried an electric and gave up. We have used a 3000 psi. washer from Northern since 1989. Has 11hp.Honda on it. No trouble with the engine. We have gone thru two General brand pumps. Put a cat pump on it the last time. Much better pump. We use it a lot. Would go with the Honda & cat pump.
