doc,
We just put in an Isokern. Very easy install. Not sure about total price but kinda expensive. Maybe 5 or 6000 for basic unit. Finnish is extra.

checked out the website, its basically the same thing at 2x the cost. unless they include brick etc. I liked the ease of install, 1-2 days excluding the prep and finish surround.
coonass, did you do the work yourself? I emailed Isokern once and they said it was not a DIY project? How high is your chimney?
DoRight,Subbed it out but it is easy. This FP is for a gas log set and chimney is stainless 18'. The pieces go together with thinset and just stack. Kinda like setting big tile. Client could burn money and not go broke.KK
Why not just go with a lennox that can be sealed off while burning? They are something like 70% + efficient. Just installed one last week. Very straight foreword, and easy to install.
