Interested in building a pre-cast mantel, hearth, and surround. Or tips on building the forementioned items with standard masonry blocks & trim brick and float out with plaster, concrete, or something similar. What I am trying to accomplish is to build something comparable to the pre-cast concrete fireplace surrounds without having to spend $2,500 on a precast system.
